Forklifts should be equipped with overhead guards to protect the operator from falling objects. If a load becomes unbalanced or strikes some overhead obstruction, it can cause a serious injury to the person operating the equipment. Never place your arms or legs between the uprights of the mast or outside the running lines of the truck. Handle only stable or safely arranged loads.

Operators must not make any modifications affecting the capacity and safe operation of a truck without the manufacturer’s prior written approval. Workers must not use powered industrial trucks in atmospheres containing hazardous concentrations of flammable vapors or dust.
